Eli looked MUCH better on Thursday evening. The trainers looked him over during the day and found a few things, but nothing too out of the ordinary for Eli. The biggest thing was he didn’t react to the hoof testers, thankfully!
He tweaked something, somewhere, in the vicinity of his left front, but he is improving. I will see how he looks tonight, too. Officially on the fence about calling the vet in on this one–but of course that’s never off the table completely. He just takes a wonky step on the left front every so often, and the more he moves around, the less I can even see it. Additionally, the footing in the round pen had almost zero give because of getting soaked and then baking in the sun, so it could even be a product of that alone at this point. And, clearly, Eli has verrrrryy limited ground training. At least he doesn’t panic over a lunge whip anymore! I will try him in the arena footing tonight.
