Things are a little slow around here–I am waiting for Eli to get new shoes and consequently haven’t done much with him the last week or so because he is quite overdue and his toes are really, really long. I have still been lightly riding him and he’s miraculously not tripping much, but I don’t think it’s fair to ask him to do much work until he gets a new setting. I did try jumping him Saturday morning, but the weather turned mildly squally, and of course I hadn’t been working him very well, so he pretty much played hard after every one of the 4 fences we took from the canter. It was so ridiculous I couldn’t stop laughing and my trainer called it “interesting.”
Also, the holidays are in full swing but I spent my 5 day vacation with a bit of a cold and went to bed at, like, 7:30pm 3 nights in a row. I am mostly feeling better today and the body aches have ended (that was the worst part!). I will no doubt hack Eli this evening, new shoes or not, because no exercise for a TB is worse than just about anything.
And somehow I managed to buy NOTHING over the weekend! This makes me both sad and pleased with my resolve. I prefer to skip the crowds and shop online in December for any holiday-related stuff.
Boo, buy something!

Solidarity, sister! Shopping can wait until the sales get really good.

Holidays are always a busy time of year, and that generally means a bit less riding. But that’s okay!

The holidays definitely get a little crazy! I try to minimize travel this time of year because it can be such a time-consuming headache.

I was away so I didn’t buy anything either, but I wanted to and now I’m sad I missed all the sales.

But there are ALWAYS more sales before Christmas. I think the best sales are between Christmas and New Years.
