The Rider Adapts: Mario Badescu AHA Botanical Body Soap Review

This is the first Mario Badescu product I am recommending with a few reservations, mostly just out of caution. The AHA Botanical Body Soap is great for clarifying the skin of your back, chest, and shoulders and making the skin of your arms and legs positively glow. However, if you have overly sensitive skin or spend a lot of time in the sun, this may not be the best of the Mario Badescu product line for you. AHA stands for alpha-hydroxy acids, exfoliants that remove dead skin cells. I have sensitive skin, and do use this product, but only with a moisturizing cream every day. I try to avoid sun exposure, or I wear sunscreen. Lately it has been just the former because various sunscreens have been irritating my skin. This product can dry out your skin if you don’t follow up with a good moisturizer, and I don’t use it in especially sensitive areas like my neck or the crooks of my elbows.

I am pleased with both the scent and quality of this product, and as far as AHA products go, it is by far the most gentle one I have used, but it is still an AHA product, so take precautions if you choose to try it. I plan to keep using it, because my pale legs look better than they have in years with this soap (although still very, very pale). I would suggest taking a look at all of the Mario Badescu body washes and comparing them before deciding which one might be the right one for you.

  1. You make me feel guilty for my Dove soap hahaha. It is hard have expensive tastes but a beer budget. Once I finish off all my old stuff these products should work their way into my budget no problem!
