Knowing When to Stop, Revisited

Say whatever aphorism you like about duality … it probably applies to training horses. I stopped in a not-so-good place, quitting while not too far behind on Wednesday evening.

I quit Thursday night, too, but after Eli gave me 4 outstanding jumping efforts. Only 4, and I hopped off right away and walked him out by hand. For all the apprehension I harbored about Eli’s temperament after Wednesday night, I knew the likelihood of two nights in a row of unrideability was very, very low. I know this horse.

I also would like to point out wearing a really cute outfit doesn’t hurt my attitude.
