UGH.
Eli’s front left is a little ouchie right now, because I turned him out yesterday afternoon without bell boots. Of course, he almost always goes out without bell boots, anyway, but maybe that should change … I’ll keep the wound wrapped for at least a few days, and he’s getting today off, and will definitely be wearing bell boots in turn out for the time being. I’ll see how he feels Tuesday night under saddle. He was dead lame under saddle after it happened, but heel grabs are super sensitive/painful injuries for horses, so I pretty much expected he would be lame right after having done it. January is a very slow month, so my hope is this won’t set us back much.
Uf! That made my heel hurt. Good luck eli!

Right? No surprise he’s lame.

Horses – always finding ways to try and kill themselves. Ugh!
