The tiny Victorian lady that periodically rules my conscience longs for the resplendent life of the landed gentry and all its graciously articulated politesse; one article of such minutiae would be the handwritten note.
Thankfully, such an indulgence exists today! If you shop some of the equestrian small businesses online, your order will be accompanied by a handwritten note on thoughtfully designed stationery. I am over and over pleasantly surprised by how lovely an experience receiving a handwritten note is. And that small business owners who are women and equestriennes keep alive this heartfelt tradition fills me with hope for our horse-spangled corner of the world.
(And sometimes you even get stickers, which is also amazing!)
I have really learned the value of personal mail in the past few months. Such an important thing our society is trying to forget!

This is a great reminder…that I need to send one. Email just is not the same.

It’s really not, but it does save trees, right?

I love writing letters, and where I love anachronism and waxing poetically on the past, History was very unkind to my people, so I’ll happily stay in the present where its a tad kinder.

I would also like to keep the medical advances of the present.

Omg–the tiny Victorian lady that lives in your head? Rotfl. Does she ride side saddle with your mental eli or astride?
When I move to Houston we have to meet!

The tiny Victorian lady is a bit of a rogue, and shocks the county by riding astride. Yes, let’s meet up after you get settled!

Lots of fun things (not all at once)! Breeches, belt, potions, a sweatshirt that I *may* have been inspired to get by one of your blog posts…. lol 🙂

That sweatshirt is the best. I want to wear it everyday. Like, as soon as it, ya know, drops below 80.
