So that vet appointment Eli had went just fine … teeth all good. And, *ahem* Eli did not actually need to be dewormed this month. I would just like to say I am thankful for the excellent record-keeping of my BM/trainer and also the vet clinic. You would think that because my job is basically all kinds of record-keeping, I would be amazing at it, but I think because I do it all day, sometimes my own personal records suffer a bit.
Eli was not dewormed, so he doesn’t especially need the customary day off after deworming, so I’ll ride him tonight and have a lesson Saturday like usual. The weather yesterday was a bit weird, light rain off and on, and Eli just having his teeth done, I wasn’t planning a ride, but I randomly decided in between rain showers to throw on a bridle and hop on him bareback (after the sedation from his dentist appointment wore off, of course). The footing was actually perfect.
All I can say is *oof*, TB withers and bareback riding do not mix. We did a lot of walking.

Pro tip: Ogilvy pad makes a great bareback pad
